On our way to the Iowa Convention we took a travel break at Oklahoma City. It was great to get out and stretch our legs.
A nice wide hike/bike trail all the way around a small lake. Not much shade but a good walk.
It was raining and the wait for the bus to take us to the walk start was long. It was a great walk though. After the walk we went up to Lewis & Clark Monument in Council Bluffs for a good view of the floodwaters.
This was an 11K event starting at the Bur Oak Visitor's Center. It was foggy when we started walking but soon it burned off. Then it got hot. We walked for quite a while with a couple from Wisconsin.
The walk started at the Surf Ballroom which was where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and “The Big Bopper” performed before they died in a plane crash. It was raining hard, but we went ahead and walked. The rain stopped about half way thru the walk. We went for the extra credit of doing the Fort Custer Maze. Great Walk.
This walk consisted of two sections. A 5K loop thru the Living History Farms and a 6K out and back into Clive.
Walk started out in city park going by one of the covered bridges of Madison County. The walk then went on to city streets where we passed the birthplace of John Wayne. We had on and off misty rain, but it was a good walk.
Walk started at Reiman Gardens and went around the University of Iowa Campus.
.
This walk started in Rock Island, IL and we did part of the walk in that city. We then crossed the bridge over to Davenport, IA. The walk was originally laid out to be a loop, but a bridge was closed so we ended up coming back over the same bridge to complete our walk.
We walked this YRE on the way home from Convention. It wasn't cool and rainy like Iowa had been. It was HOT. Very nice walk though.
