Quad Cities Volksmarch

This was the last AVA 2011 Convention event. I don't think it was a QUAD cities walk. Because a bridge was closed the walk route was changed to a partial out and back. I think we only walked in Rock Island, IL and Davenport IA.

Centennial Bridge - first 4 lane bridge over the Mississippi. Opened in 1940 as a toll bridge.

Re-crossing the Mississippi on the Centennial Bridge. See red truck below bridge. There was a lady there handing out energy bars.

Stopped to watch a ballgame at Modern Woodmen Ball Park. Park originally opened in 1931. Completely rebuilt in 2004. Home to the Qudad Cities River Bandits.
